I was doing a quick test to see if I can make a technical reproduction of a Man Ray photo.
I had too little light, it was almost evening.
But, I think it will be perfect in the morning.
My camera stood too close, too.
But, I think I will do a serious attempt.
It's an assignment for school.
But, yes, I liked the images myself, so here they are.
Thank you so much, Robert!

Nice work, Nadja. I like the lighting, it creates good definition/contrast.

Thank you very much, John!
It's just the light coming from the window.
Working at ISO 800 here.
F2.8 1/60, so very low light.
The high iso is oke, since I want to copy an analog photo, I guess.
Will try with more light for the Man Ray copy, it has more depth of field.

More nice and beautiful, more mature?
Are you sure you talk about the same women, Eddy?
Maybe that is because I take better care of myself now.
Or, maybe that is just because I am becoming a good photographer...!
"-))
Anyway, I am very flattered with your comment, Eddy.
Like... very, very flattered...!
:-))
Very sweet of you.
Ten years, time flies like nothing...
It scares the hell out of me.

Thank you very, much, Pierre!
I did a new attempt to copy the Man Ray photo.
Not good, again!
It's on my other blog.
Technical reproductions, I find that very difficult to do it right.

ähmm..I discovered your shots while reading drlightness...;-)...

I really like your shots.....your natural look is much more fetching than most other "nude art"...so keep on going on with your shootings and let us take part with your lust!
;-)

lighting, pose and composition are great!...no question...

Oh wow, thank you very much, alter ego!
I'm really glad to read this! :-))
I was scared for camera's, whole my life.
When we got a self portrait- assignment in school, I started making self portraits because I had to.
But I started to have real fun with 'exploring myself'.
And it's really handy to have a model at hand all the time!
Having said that, I hope to work with other models soon.
But, I like to work with 'ordinary women', women who aren't used to pose for photos. And I want to keep that up, even when they are a bit harder to find..
Self portraits are a bit limiting of course.
Welcome anytime, alter ego!
And, thanks again!

well nadja...I have to say thank you for sharing "the old wound"...;-)
I'm still scared about cameras, so that you won't find a lot shots of me..and never such expressive photos you've done and hopefully still do..!..I do have other contacts via blogger and other pages...but these selfportraits are never boring or bloodless..you know...I prefer watching "ordinary girls and women"..not these "10's" of so called art magazines...
;-)...and having a model at hand is so useful....I'm not in that wonderful position...I think, naked "ordinary men" are not that photogenic..;-)
see u
have a nice day!

Nadja said...

Yes, I agree.
I also always love to see self portraits.
But, alter ego, we need more self portraits of naked ordinary men!
I've heard this excuse before, but, it's bullshit! !!!
'We' ordinary naked women, especially the bit older and ugly ones, don't think we are photogenic either!
So... come on, be brave, set an example for all the other ordinary men!
:-)))
I must say, your comments are a bit encouraging...
Thank YOU, alter ego! :-))
See you!

Nadja said...

Oh, oh!
And don't forget to tell me where I can find your self portraits, alter ego!
Expressive or not. :-)))

hehe...thanks a lot...but nooo...I'm not made for modelling at all...a famous east german photographer years ago was asked, why he's only taking shots of women and girls...never naked men...and he said..because he thinks that naked women looks much better than naked men...and that's, what I say...;-)...nothing less, nothing more...
I think I'm brave, but not that brave enough...=D...
hey...watching fitness 101 makes much more fun..;-)

see u!

Unknown said...

uhoh...you can't find any selfportraits...sorry...;-)

that's why I don't have such an icon pic...:)

Nadja said...

Fitness 101, that's really not my type!
Oh my g.d, no!
Way too much muscles for my taste!
Seriously, I can't handle that.
I love my men more ordinary...
much more ordinary! :-))
I guess that's spoken like a man, girls and women are nicer to look at.
Even when I admit I love looking at photos of woman more too, there must be enough photos of men also!
It's never to late to start, alter ego... look at me.
Just let me know!
:-))
